Specialty / Custom Contact Lens
Our doctors stay current in the most cutting edge contact lens technology and will
provide you with a comprehensive contact lens exam for the best vision and
comfort. In addition to the general stock contact lenses, our doctors are experts in
specialty contact lenses for high or atypical prescriptions as well as ones used for
ocular diseases such as:
- Dry eye
- Post surgical corneas
- Post corneal grafts
- Corneal scarring
- Myopia control options
Types of specialty lenses
A scleral lens sits on the white part of the eye (sclera) and vaults over the cornea which creates a new optical surface and creates a reservoir of moisture over the front surface of the eye. This allows for clearer, more comfortable vision and the added tear film over the cornea aids healing of the cornea.
Custom soft lenses
Using custom soft lenses we are able to correct a wide range of prescriptions as well as prosthetic contact lenses for distorted irises.
Rigid Gas Permeable contact lenses are made from a hard, oxygen permeable material. With some prescriptions, RGP lenses may provide a clearer and more consistent visual experience. There is a tradeoff with comfort in some cases.
Hybrid lenses combine the precision of hard lenses with the comfort of softlenses. https://synergeyes.com/
This is a non-surgical procedure that eliminates the need for glasses or daytime contact lenses. It improves vision by gently reshaping your eye while you sleep using custom designed therapeutic contact lenses. You wear the specially fitted lenses in at bedtime, and when you awake, you will have clear, sharp, natural vision for your waking hours.
This safe and effective treatment can correct near-sightedness (including high prescriptions), and astigmatism. It is a great alternative to LASIK for those who don’t want the risk or are not ready for
surgery. It is also used for myopia management in children.
