Dr. Charles Clayton

Dr. Clayton received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University in 1996 and received his Doctorate of Optometry Degree with honors from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2000. During Optometry school, he did extra work and study to receive an additional degree – Bachelor of Science in Visual Science in 1999. Dr. Clayton joined Bellevue Vision Clinic in July 2000 and became a 50/50 partner with Dr. Robert “Bob” Glaze (emeritus) in the practice a few years later.

Dr. Clayton’s strong medical eye care background adds to his focus on primary eye care examinations. He has extensive knowledge and experience with dry eye syndrome, ocular diseases, and specialized contact lenses. He is a member of the Optometric Physicians of WA, American Optometric Association, and prior President of the King County Optometric Society. Dr. Clayton is a consultant, speaker, and facilitator for some of the largest companies in eye care. He has professionally spoken/facilitated well over a hundred meetings since 2010. This allows our office to stay on the cutting edge of technology and often have the first opportunity in the country/state to receive new technology or products to provide the best care for our patients.

Dr. Clayton grew up on a farm in the Yakima Valley and consumed a lifetime of asparagus. He is happy to let everyone else have first shot at asparagus now. He still misses the hands-on hard work of farming and having an excuse to drive
trucks, tractors, and heavy duty equipment. He loves spending time with his wife, 3 kids, and Chewbacca (95 pounds of goofy chocolate Labradoodle born on May the 4th) You can often find them cooking, baking, hiking, camping, traveling, visiting family, playing games, and looking for the next adventure.

Dr Clayton is currently accepting new patients
