Dr. Nermeen Hamza – Dry Eye Disease Specialty

Dr. Hamza has a strong background and extensive knowledge in dry eye disease, with a special interest in severe or chronic ocular surface disease patients who have failed traditional dry eye care. Dr Hamza provides advanced/cutting edge treatments including newest medications and therapies, in office treatments, scleral lenses and amniotic membranes/biologics. Dr. Hamza is a member of the Optometric Physicians of Washington, the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Hamza received her Bachelor Of Science in biological sciences from University of Alberta in 1999 and earned her Doctorate in Optometry from New England College of Optometry in Boston in 2003. After graduating, she completed an additional residency in family practice optometry with focus on ocular disease and community health. She continued on at the college as adjunct faculty for New England College of optometry as a clinical educator of interns and residents for several years in addition to working in a private glaucoma practice in the Boston area.

Dr. Hamza and her family moved to the Seattle area and she joined Bellevue Vision Clinic in July of 2010. In June 2013, she became a 50/50 partner of Bellevue Vision Clinic with Dr. Clayton.

In her down time, Dr. Hamza enjoys traveling, gardening and spending time with her husband and their 2 sons (18 and 15) and adorable labradoodle, Taz.
